(this was a free trip to disney, e.g. discover magazine flew me, my wife, marvin minsky, and his wife to disney to be at the discover awards; none of us had entered, so we didn't win anything, but they wanted us to be there to participate in the activities. we also met bran ferren there, and i talked to him about my interest in electronic flash, and in xenon arc lamps, and this also led to my meeting clint hope whom i had some long discussions with regarding optiform reflectors, and equations of reflector design for lamps not having a point source of light...)
